We finished renovating the Baby’s Room last week. We resurfaced all the walls, redid the electrical (knob and tube wires are not the safest), installed new lights, laid a floor and painted everything. It only took us six months. My excuse is that it is hard to work on stuff when everyone has other jobs. Again, we owe a huge amount of thanks to our awesome neighbor who continues to teach me how to actually do the stuff we do. He also lets us borrow his tools. And additional thanks goes out to Doug who has let us use his nail gun for almost a year now. It has been great for installing base boards and the pigeon problem. Follow the jump for before and after shots!

Before we got a hold of the house

After we got a hold of the house, joint compound, a nail gun and a circular saw
Now all we have to do is decorate. Our theme is Nintendo.
Also, on a somewhat unrelated note, this room was my excuse for quitting my fitness program. I plan on starting up in the next month. I want to make a bunch of excuses for how busy I was, etc, but in the end I just wimped out. I mean, come on, it was about 15 to 20 minutes of my time every other morning. I told myself once the room is done, I would get back to it.

Very impressive!!! After hearing all these stories of fixing things up, I wonder how you can be a Waits. Thank goodness for wonderful friends who are able to teach you these new skills!

I only wish these newfound skills would transfer to yard work. Outside, I got nothin. Just weeds and poison ivy.

Well, the room looks really good, but this post is a little anti-climatic. I want to see how you decorate the room!!!! The Nintendo theme is gonna be AWESOME!!!

Anti-Climatic?! Says the person who didn’t spend six months working in there!
I know what you mean, and we will get more pics up soon.
