We have only known the Mancusos for a year in a half. They are such great people, and we are so glad to know them. Brian has introduced the world of hunting to Todd. And last year the Mancusos put on a Feast of the 7 Beasts for all their friends because they had so much left over meet. Brian is Italian, and so they played off the Feast of the 7 Fish that they do right before Christmas. Mandee did an AWESOME job last year, and I was so amazed she did it all by herself. This year she is PREGNANT!!!!!! Best celebration of the year!!! She and Brian are going to be the most super duper awesome parents, this is one lucky little person! I so wanted to do feast of the beast again, but could not ask her to do it alone. So we co hosted, and we didn’t limit ourselves to only 7 beasts.
So know it is proudly called, “Feast of the Beast” and is an annual thing the night before New Years Eve. Read More

Aside from using it as a giant drinking bowl, Connor really enjoys having water in the backyard. The first time we used it, we filled it up and put him in. He was not a huge fan of the FREEZING cold water. Understandable. It made is significantly tiny penis shrivel up even tinier. (ed. note: The previous statement has been retracted due to its potentially offensive nature to unsuspecting readers who do not realize I can sometimes be offensive.) It’s cold. So the next time, following a great tip from our sister-in-law, we filled it up in the morning and let it heat up until after his nap in the afternoon. A much more pleasant experience.
Then he started grabbing my tongue.

We put up our Halloween decorations for the year. Funny how the only time we decorate our house is for Halloween. We need to expand our horizons and make some decorations for other holidays like… Boxing Day.
Connor got really excited about the decorations and insisted we take some pictures of him with them. So… after the jump you can find a bunch of pics.

All right! After a good day’s labor, Mega Man finally hangs on our walls! He is in the Baby’s Room guarding those around him. I woke up the other morning, and was thinking about the cut-out of the Duck Hunt Dog. The nice thing about video game sprites is each pixel can be very easy to translate to recreate on any grid. So I decided to make one of my own. We already have a Duck Hunt light switch, and Mario Decals everywhere else, so we wanted something other than Mario. Mega-Man it is.

I decided to have a “Martha Stewart” Halloween this year. My friend Jeanne has some patterns for Halloween cats, and we also wanted to put some tombestones up. This is really a fun holiday to make silly thngs, and of course what is halloween without honoring THE BEST vampire show ever created???
Our Buffy tombstone reads: Buffy Anne Summers / 1981-2001 / She Saved the World… A Lot. Of course, everyone recognizes that tombstone and inscription from the fifth season finale. If you don’t recognize this, maybe you have your own tombstone.
The other two tombstones refer to the first big bad. Count Dracula’s lists each year he has allegedly been killed.

We finished renovating the Baby’s Room last week. We resurfaced all the walls, redid the electrical (knob and tube wires are not the safest), installed new lights, laid a floor and painted everything. It only took us six months. My excuse is that it is hard to work on stuff when everyone has other jobs. Again, we owe a huge amount of thanks to our awesome neighbor who continues to teach me how to actually do the stuff we do. He also lets us borrow his tools. And additional thanks goes out to Doug who has let us use his nail gun for almost a year now. It has been great for installing base boards and the pigeon problem. Follow the jump for before and after shots!

We had a lot of help with our living room. Thanks so much Ian and Jay Lefler, Brother Hornby, and the Missionaries. Also thanks so much for our neighbor Dave who taught us everything we needed to know to actually do the living room. He also let us borrow a very very nice amount of tools. Thanks and I’m sounding like a speech so enjoy the pics!!!
